We know that you probably have many questions about how we run our home, and not without reason! We want you to feel comfortable and secure like our children do. What is Tipton Children’s Home?

Tipton Children's Home is a residential home for children ages 5-18. Here they will learn about God's word, attend Tipton Church of Christ, attend Tipton Public Schools, and learn important skills needed to live on their own.

Is there a cost for my child to live at Tipton Children’s Home?

There is no tuition fee for children to live at Tipton Children’s Home. Our mission is to provide care for children in need without placing a financial burden on their families.

Can boys and girls both live at Tipton Children's Home?

Yes! We have separate cottages for boys and girls, but we all live on one campus. This means siblings can stay close together! However, if your child is experiencing confusion around their gender or sexuality, we are probably not a good fit for them.

Is there any children you cannot take at Tipton Children's home?

Due to specialized care needed for certain instances, we cannot consider children for placement who are: Addicted to drugs/alcohol, sexual abusers, diagnosed with psychotic disorders, violent, have a history of criminal activity, or question their gender identity.

My child is in DHS custody, can they live at Tipton Children's home?

No, we cannot care for children currently in DHS custody.

What is my role as a parent?

We partner with you to meet every need your child has. We make decisions on behalf of the child for health, education, well-being, etc. The parent will retain all legal rights to their child. We welcome scheduled phone calls from the parents and family, as well as mail or packages.

How do I begin the process of applying to Tipton Children's Home? 

To apply, parents or guardians must complete an application form, which can be found on our website. After submission, our team will review the application and contact you to discuss the next steps.

Do parents need to give up their rights for their children to stay at Tipton Children's Home?

No, parents do not need to give up their rights. We believe in preserving the parental bond, allowing parents to remain involved in their children’s lives while they stay at Tipton.

Can I visit my child while they are living at Tipton Children’s Home?

Absolutely. We encourage parents and guardians to visit their children regularly. Maintaining a strong family bonds is important, and we facilitate visits to ensure that families stay connected.
